IN THE STATES: Costs Continue to Rise As Iran War Hits 60th Day, Democrats Vow to Fight Back Against Republicans’ Redistricting War

Today marks 60 days since Donald Trump started his deadly and costly war of choice with Iran, which has claimed the lives of 13 servicemembers and injured hundreds more, and caused prices to skyrocket here at home. Millions of American families and farmers are struggling to make ends meet as the costs of gas, fertilizer, and fuel soar. Combined with Trump’s disastrous agenda of pushing prices even higher and slashing funding for health care and food assistance, Americans are finding themselves worse off than ever before.

This week, the Supreme Court gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in its ruling of Louisiana v. Callais, rolling back the clock on the Civil Rights Movement and opening the doors for Republicans to redraw congressional districts across the country. Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans are already attempting to enact illegal, unconstitutional congressional maps that dilute Floridians’ voting power. Make no mistake: Democrats will fight back against Republicans’ gerrymandering schemes every step of the way and ensure the rights of voters are protected.
