IN THE STATES: While Republicans Continue to Lose With Their Unpopular Agenda, Voters Continue to Side With Democrats

On Wednesday, the DNC painted the skies with a plane banner displaying “Welcome to Qatar-a-Lago” over the home of Donald Trump to call out Trump’s use of his presidency to enrich himself. As Trump’s family business strikes a deal to build a multi-billion dollar golf course in Qatar and Trump seeks to accept a $400 million luxury plane for his personal use from the Qatari government, Democrats are reminding voters that Trump’s allegiance lies with his bank account and billionaire buddies — not the American people, national security, or the Constitution.

Meanwhile in Nebraska, Democrats continued to overperform, win elections, and make history. Democrat John Ewing Jr. unseated the longest-serving Republican-aligned incumbent mayor in the country to become Omaha’s first Black mayor. In nearly every election this year, there’s been one overarching theme: Voters are fed up with Trump’s Republican lackeys’ constant attacks on their rights and hard-earned benefits and demand change. That’s why the DNC is dedicated to supporting state parties in our mission to mobilize grassroots organizing efforts and build our party from the ground up so strong Democratic leaders such as Ewing Jr. can protect working families at every level of government.

Democrats continued our “Fight to Save Medicaid” month of action with “People’s Town Hall” events across the country. In Pennsylvania, Sen. Ruben Gallego visited Bucks County — vulnerable Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s (PA-01) district — to hold him accountable for backing Trump’s disastrous agenda that rips away health care from Pennsylvanians. During the town hall, Sen. Gallego called on the congressman to stand up for his constituents instead of ignoring them to win the favor of Trump and his billionaire buddies.

As House Republicans try – and struggle – to advance their disgraceful budget bill that puts Medicaid and food assistance on the chopping block to give billionaires tax breaks, millions of Americans are already struggling under Donald Trump. Republicans’ dangerous budget proposal would further devastate state and local economies, all so wealthy billionaires can get more tax breaks.
