As Trump continues to abuse his powers to fulfill his campaign of revenge and retribution, a majority of Americans are condemning his actions and voicing their disapproval. A new YouGov poll showed that 56% of Americans think that state and local governments should lead the response to the protests, versus only 25% saying it should be Donald Trump’s federal government. A plurality disapproves of deploying Marines to Los Angeles. 

Make no mistake: Americans don’t support Trump’s draconian immigration policy that rips families apart and targets immigrants and citizens alike, using ICE to sow fear and confusion in our communities.

Americans want a commonsense approach that builds attainable pathways to citizenship while strengthening our border security — like the bipartisan bill that Trump thwarted last year.

“Amidst his hugely unpopular budget bill and public breakup with Elon Musk, Donald Trump is wagging the dog by deploying troops into American communities. Americans overwhelmingly believe that state and local officials should be leading — not Trump and his cruel brigade of political underlings. As Donald Trump turns Los Angeles into a military battlefield, jeopardizes public safety, and makes our troops sleep on the floor after dispatching them without food, Americans everywhere are saying enough is enough: Trump needs to stop playing politics with our communities and our service members.”

New polling highlights Americans’ disapproval of Trump’s handling of the LA protests and his federal intervention.

“45% disapprove the National Guard deployment, while 38% said they approve.”
