PHOTOS: DNC Holds “Build Back Better” Stop in Las Vegas

Throughout the Month of August, Bus will Travel Across the Country to Highlight How Democrats are Delivering for Working Families
Today, the Democratic National Committee’s “Build Back Better” bus tour made a stop in Las Vegas at Eastside Cutters with Governor Steve Sisolak, Las Vegas Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, Cecia Alvarado of Mi Familia Vota, and Erica Mosca of Leaders in Training. During the stop, the speakers highlighted how President Biden and Democrats are delivering for the American people with the creation of more than four million jobs, tax cuts for middle-class families, and lower health care costs.

“The message printed across the bus couldn’t be more clear: Democrats at every level are working not just to recover from the pandemic, but prosper,” said Governor Sisolak. “Americans experienced a once-in-a-generation pandemic and, as many of us know, Nevada was among the hardest hit. Luckily, we’ve been able to use federal relief dollars in meaningful ways in Nevada that have helped small businesses and nonprofits keep employees paid and their doors open. It’s going to take all of us, working together—from the White House to Carson City—to push through and continue down the path to recovery.”

“Democrats of all stripes support the Biden-Harris budget because it delivers for American families. Failed Republican policies have devastated our environment and put working families on an economic back foot. Democrats are turning that around and delivering for Nevadans,” said Councilwoman Olivia Diaz.

“Latinos are working to create a better life for themselves and help build our country back better. We know that Biden’s Build Back Better agenda will provide $2.7 billion in state fiscal relief for Nevada alone! We are also pleased to see that there is additional relief of up to $1,600 per child through the second payment of the Child Tax Credit, which will support the families of 560,000 children in Nevada.” said Cecia Alvarado, a mom and Nevada State Director for Mi Familia Vota. “Mi Familia Vota will continue to build political power in the Latino community and ensure that they utilize the many new benefits that are coming from the Biden administration.”

“In Nevada, more than $1 billion in funding has been allocated to K-12 schools thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan,” said Erica Mosca, the Founder and Executive Director of Leaders in Training (LIT). “I’ve seen first hand the impact that President Biden and these lawmakers have had ensuring our community could build back better, together.”
