After House Republicans passed sweeping cuts to health care and food assistance for millions of Americans, GOP Rep. Greg Steube introduced a bill to rename the Washington DC Metro the “Trump Train.” This is just the latest example of congressional Republicans’ humiliating attempts to curry favor with Donald Trump while their approval ratings sink with their own constituents. 

Here’s a list of House Republicans’ bizarre bills sucking up to Trump: 

• Rename the DC metro to the “Trump Train” 
• Make Trump’s birthday a federal holiday
• Carve Trump onto Mount Rushmore
• Change the name of Greenland to “Red, White and Blueland”
• Put Trump on the $100 bill
• Print $250 bills with a portrait of Trump on them 
• Rename Washington Dulles International Airport to “Donald J. Trump International Airport”

• Vote to put food assistance on the chopping block for nearly 42 million Americans, especially impacting children and rural communities 
• Vote to strip 13.7 million Americans of life-saving health care 
• Pave the way for nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts, which would devastate millions of seniors
• Threaten 1 million Americans’ jobs thanks to federal budget cuts 
• Threaten to plummet state GDPs by more than $110 billion
