Ron DeSantis Should Thank President Biden And Democrats for Florida’s Budget Rollout

Today, Ron DeSantis is signing off on a $112 billion state budget made possible, in part, by President Biden and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan.

Ron DeSantis is signing a budget that includes billions in federal funding from the American Rescue Plan, which he called “Washington at its worst.”

Rolling Stone: “DeSantis Brags About Florida Budget That Includes Billions in Federal Funds He Opposed”

New York Times: “DeSantis, for instance, said the plan was ‘Washington at its worst.’ But he later talked up his proposal for a $1 billion gas tax holiday, along with bonuses for teachers and first responders — all of which relied on federal funds.”

But this isn’t the first time Ron DeSantis has taken credit for funding from the American Rescue Plan:

Florida Politics: “Gov. DeSantis plans $430M infrastructure spending, padded by federal funds”

Orlando Sentinel: “DeSantis doles out millions but fails to mention it mostly comes from Uncle Sam”

Politico: “Florida’s economy did recover quickly due to the governor’s policies while at the same time the federal government flooded the state with billions in aid that helped the state avoid severe budget cuts and let the governor and Legislature dole out lots of money.”
