Nearly eight months into this administration’s deadly and costly war with Iran, “chief dealmaker,” JD Vance, has failed to reach a deal to end the war after repeatedly moving the timeline for when the war will end. Vance recently downplayed the war, saying, “I wouldn’t call it a war,” and that he doesn’t know when the war will end.
During the town hall, Vance was asked about his administration’s war with Iran by Joey Amor, whose wife, U.S. service member Master Sgt. Nicole Amor, was killed in the war, saying the government failed her. Vance responded by saying, “This is literally the first time I’ve heard of this.”
WATCH Vance’s cowardly and careless answer here.
Donald Trump and Vance’s war with Iran has already killed at least 21 U.S. service members and wounded at least 865 more, and the administration is expected to escalate the war again after the midterm elections.
In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“JD Vance said he’d put an end to forever wars — explicitly promising voters an administration that would not send ‘tons of innocent Americans to die in some foreign country.’ Yet when confronted by the painful cost of the war, Vance tried to pass the buck. As he fails to bring the war to an end, the blame rests squarely with him and he has responded with nothing but carelessness and cowardice.”
