With 31 Days Until the Midterms, Trump Travels to Ohio to Try to Sell the Failed Trump-Vance Agenda

Today, Donald Trump will travel to Ohio to promote his failed agenda that has made life unaffordable for working families. Trump’s reckless tariffs and deadly and costly war with Iran have hiked prices on everything, from gas to groceries. Now — as his approval ratings sink to record lows and even his strongest supporters turn their backs on him — Trump is desperately trying to rally his base and gaslight Americans on the state of the economy as the midterm elections approach.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Donald Trump and JD Vance’s failed agenda has left working families strapped as they continue to wage their deadly and costly war with Iran with no end in sight. Now, Trump is in crisis mode, desperately trying to rally Republicans as his approval sinks lower and lower. Americans are fed up with Trump putting them last and leaving them with the bill for his reckless agenda, and they will remember who turned their backs on them when they head to the polls this November.”

REMINDER: The average Ohio family has had to spend an additional $4,000 for everyday essentials under Trump, including $310 for groceries and $938 on housing. The average price for a gallon of gas in Ohio is $4.07 and the average price for a gallon of diesel is $6.52. The average Ohio family has shelled out an additional $706 on gas alone since Trump started his war with Iran. This is on top of Ohioans being forced to drop down to cheaper, lower-quality ACA healthcare plans, and many more have left the marketplace altogether. Ohio ACA enrollment is already down at least 20% this year.
