With 33 Days Until the Midterms, Vance Stumps for Failed Republican Agenda in Florida

Today, JD Vance will travel to Florida to promote the failed Republican agenda that has made life unaffordable for working families. Donald Trump and Vance’s reckless tariffs and deadly and costly war with Iran have spiked prices on everyday essentials from gas to groceries, crushing everyday Americans and earning Trump an all-time-low approval rating. Now — as their approval ratings continue to sink to record lows and even their strongest supporters turn their backs on them — Trump and Vance are desperately trying to rally their base and gaslight Americans on the state of the economy as the midterm elections approach.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Donald Trump and JD Vance launched reckless tariffs and started a deadly and costly war with Iran that sent the economy spiraling and caused prices to skyrocket, and now — in the final stretch of the midterms — they’re desperately pleading with voters to ‘give [them] another chance.’ Everyday Americans can’t afford gas, groceries, healthcare, or housing without dipping into their savings or taking on more debt — and there’s no relief in sight with Trump and Vance in charge. Despite promising to lower costs on ‘Day One,’ Trump and Vance have made life unaffordable for working families, and in nearly one month, voters are going to hold Republicans accountable.”

REMINDER: The average Florida household has spent an additional $3,700 for everyday essentials under Trump and Vance, including $310 for groceries and $791 on housing costs. The average price for a gallon of gas in Florida is $4.19 and the average price for a gallon of diesel is $5.95. The average Florida family has shelled out an additional $672 on gas alone since Trump and Vance started their unpopular war with Iran. This is on top of Trump and Republicans’ refusal to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax cuts, forcing monthly premiums for ACA plans to rise over 50% on average in 2026 compared to last year.
