In response to Trump manufacturing policy director Peter Navarro’s trip to Pennsylvania, DNC Spokeswoman and Pennsylvania native Maddie McComb released the following statement: 

“Tomorrow marks two-years since hundreds of layoffs were announced at a Pennsylvania steel plant in Steelton, but the Trump administration is marking the date by trying to cover up his record of broken promises to working families who have been hurt by the loss of manufacturing jobs. Pennsylvania voters aren’t fooled.

“Trump came to Pennsylvania in 2016 and said he’d ‘bring back manufacturing jobs’ but thousands of workers across the commonwealth have seen the reality: factories like the ones in Steelton are being shuttered, leaving workers left out to dry. The Trump agenda is one broken promise after another, leaving behind a trail of Pennsylvania families worse off now than they were three years ago. It’s one of many reasons why the Keystone State and our 20 electoral votes will be going towards the Democrat next November.”
