DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement on the 47th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade:

“On the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the right to safe and legal abortion is under attack. In Washington and across the country, Republican leaders are going after the American people’s constitutional right to make decisions about their own bodies, their own families, and their own futures. But Democrats are fighting back. We’re doing everything in our power to make sure Roe remains the law of the land. And we will continue fighting to protect every American’s right to reproductive freedom.”
