Trump Boasts, As Death Toll Is Projected To Double

Trump has always put himself and his political interests first. Now, in a new interview last night, Trump has taken his selfish neglect of American lives to a new level by falsely claiming that the one thing the pandemic taught us is that he was right.

Trump claimed people are feeling good now and boasted about his silver lining of the pandemic: being proven right.

TRUMP: “I think they’re starting to feel good now.”

TRUMP: “Now, the one thing that the pandemic has taught us is that I was right.”

Meanwhile, a new government report projects the death toll could surge to more than 3,000 per day within the next month.

Washington Post: “A draft government report projects covid-19 cases will surge to about 200,000 per day by June 1, a staggering jump that would be accompanied by more than 3,000 deaths each day.”

CNN: “An influential coronavirus model often cited by the White House is now forecasting that 134,000 people will die of Covid-19 in the United States, nearly double its previous prediction. The model, from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, had predicted 72,433 deaths as of Monday morning.”

Trump now predicts the death toll will reach 100,000 after saying two months ago the numbers of cases would go down to zero in a couple of days.

New York Times: “President Trump predicted on Sunday night that the death toll from the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country may reach as high as 100,000 in the United States, twice as many as he had forecast just two weeks ago, even as he pressed states to reopen the shuttered economy.”

Trump on February 26: “When you have 15, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”
