DNC on EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock Stepping Down
December 10, 2020
DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement:
“Democrats owe a debt of gratitude to Stephanie Schriock. Under Stephanie’s eleven-year tenure, EMILY’s List trained Democratic women up and down the ballot and helped women of all generations and backgrounds assume their rightful position in the halls of power. Stephanie turned EMILY’s List into an electoral powerhouse, raising more than $460 million for the organization and their endorsed candidates. And after Donald Trump’s election, Stephanie and EMILY’s List seized on the grassroots energy across the country by expanding their state and local training programs to help us break records in 2018, taking back the House and electing more women than ever before. We still have more work to do, but Stephanie leaves EMILY’s List with a legacy of undeniable progress: Kamala Harris is set to be our nation’s first woman vice president, more women and women of color were recently elected Congress than ever before, and every girl can see themselves as a future representative of the people. Thank you, Stephanie, for your tireless work. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
