“Today, Muslims throughout the world celebrate the breaking of the fast of Ramadan. During this holy month, Muslims express their devotion and faith through fasting, introspection, and compassion – and the pandemic has meant fasting and breaking fast without the typical bonds of community found during this time. As more and more Americans get vaccinated, we look forward to the next opportunity to celebrate Eid al-Fitr together again.
“May we as a nation continue to reflect on the hardships from the pandemic as we begin to heal and rebuild the lives it has touched. On behalf of the Democratic Party, we extend our best wishes on this Eid al-Fitr, Eid Mubarak.”
