DNC Celebrates International Women’s Day
March 8, 2023
DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Women’s Caucus Chair Lottie Shackelford released the following statement in celebration of International Women’s Day:
“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the trailblazing women who have made their mark to better our country.
“Over the past two years, we have continued to achieve historic new heights thanks to the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats prioritizing empowering women and recognizing all that they bring to the table – from electing our nation’s first female Vice President, Kamala Harris, to an unprecedented number of female judicial confirmations, and a history making number of women governors elected in the last midterm election. But we also know that there is more work to do to break more glass ceilings, protect women’s rights against increasingly severe attacks from MAGA Republicans, and ensure full equality.
“The Democratic Party is proud to celebrate the incredible contributions of women to our party today and everyday, and we rededicate ourselves to ensuring women and girls can achieve their full potential.”
