DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement in response to the July CPI report:

“Today’s Consumer Price Index report is yet another indication that our economy remains strong. Thanks to Bidenomics, annual inflation has fallen almost two-thirds since last summer and is near its lowest level in over two years, while wages are higher than a year ago and higher than before the pandemic. 

“At the same time, unemployment remains near historic lows and the US has created over 13 million jobs since President Biden took office. This is Bidenomics in action – we’re growing the economy from the middle out and bottom up – and Americans across the country are reaping the benefits of our robust economic recovery. MAGA Republicans are threatening to roll back that progress by pushing the same failed trickle-down policies that have left working families behind, but we won’t let them drag us backwards.”
