DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement in response to the August jobs report: 

“Today’s jobs report confirms yet again that Bidenomics is working and driving one of the strongest job-creation periods in our nation’s history. Under President Biden, wages are up, unemployment has remained under 4% for the longest stretch in over 50 years, and 13.5 million good-paying jobs have been added to the economy. Working families are seeing the difference between President Biden’s record of strengthening the economy by rebuilding our middle class and the previous administration’s history of broken promises, tax handouts to big corporations, and leaving with the worst jobs record since the Great Depression. Despite MAGA Republicans’ efforts to roll back the progress we’ve made, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are continuing to build the economy from the bottom up and the middle out.”
