“Today, on National Coming Out Day, we celebrate and recognize the incredible strength, resilience, and pride of the LGBTQ+ community. While we celebrate the incredible progress made in the pursuit for full justice and liberation for LGBTQ+ folks, we also recommit to fighting for a country where all LGBTQ+ people are welcomed, accepted, and loved. We recognize that this day comes amidst an unprecedented spike in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation that is seeking to silence and marginalize the LGBTQ+ community, especially transgender youth. Hate in any form is unacceptable – and that is why Democrats, under the leadership of President Biden, are fighting to build an America where LGBTQ+ people are celebrated and valued. Today, and every day, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBTQ+ community and will continue to forge a future marked by freedom, equality, and justice for all.”
