As JD Vance continues to push his anti-choice extremism that includes comparing abortion to slavery, DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement: 

“JD Vance is an anti-choice MAGA extremist who wants to help Donald Trump make abortion ‘illegal nationally’ because he thinks abortion is ‘comparable’ to slavery. Vance — who has criticized exceptions for rape and incest and voted to block legislation to codify abortion access protections — is fully on board with the Project 2025 agenda to further rip away reproductive freedoms as women suffer under draconian abortion bans Trump made possible. The Trump-Vance ticket is running on a cruel, dangerous, and wildly unpopular anti-choice agenda that the American people will reject this November.”

ON THE RECORD: JD Vance is an anti-choice extremist who has compared abortion to slavery. 

Vance: “There’s something comparable between abortion and slavery, and that while the people who obviously suffer the most are those subjected to it, I think it has this morally distorting effect on the entire society.”

“During his campaign for Senate, Vance applauded the overturning of Roe v. Wade and supported Texas’s ban on abortion, which does not allow exceptions other than cases where the mother’s life is at risk. 

“‘Two wrongs don’t make a right,’ he said in 2021 when asked whether abortion laws should allow for exceptions for rape and incest.” 

ProPublica: “[Vance] argued that conservatives needed to take action against corporations that, say, defended abortion rights or punished employees who spoke out against abortion access. ‘If we’re unwilling to make companies that are taking the side of the left in the culture wars feel real economic pain, then we’re not serious about winning the culture war,’ he said.”
