Americans Are Fed Up With Donald Trump — Millions Join Nationwide “No Kings” Protests To Make It Known
October 20, 2025

New polling from the Associated Press showed that nearly 70% of adults describe the economy as “poor” under Donald Trump, including over 40% of Republicans and 80% of Independents. Only 1 in 10 Americans believes they are getting ahead in Trump’s economy. Despite Trump’s insistence that “inflation has been defeated” and “grocery prices are down,” over half of adults indicate that the price of groceries is a major source of stress.
Americans are seeing Trump’s presidency for what it is — an attempt to consolidate power for himself and his wealthy donors while throwing everyday Americans under the bus. This weekend, more than 7 million people participated in over 2,700 “No Kings” protests in all 50 states and D.C. to stand up against Trump’s attempt to crown himself king.
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“Donald Trump has taken a wrecking ball to the economy with his unhinged trade war and disastrous policies — and working families are paying the price. Trump can repeat his baseless claims that prices are down, but the evidence is clear as day: Costs on everything from groceries to electricity have increased, and good-paying jobs have become nearly impossible to find. He’s sold out working Americans in order to line the pockets of the rich and powerful — while attempting to tighten his grip on power. That’s why millions marched this weekend: to say loud and clear that Americans will not stand by as Trump turns our democracy into a monarchy that serves only Trump and his friends.”
Trump claims that he’s built “the best economy we’ve ever had” — but only for billionaires. Working families are struggling to make ends meet, prices are skyrocketing, and job growth has ground to a halt. To make matters worse, Trump is doubling down on his refusal to reopen the government as Republicans let health care costs skyrocket for over 22 million Americans by an average of 114%, all while he throws lavish fundraisers and lines his pockets.
