NEW: Medicare Announces Price Cuts for 15 Prescription Drugs Thanks to BIDEN, Not Trump

Thanks to Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare announced price cuts for 15 prescription drugs — a key tenet of President Joe Biden’s agenda.

Let’s be clear: These particular drugs were selected for negotiation in January, while Biden was still in office, which means the only saving grace for the millions of Americans whose health care costs are about to skyrocket is thanks to Biden’s legacy, not Donald Trump (who wants to get rid of the very legislation that lowered the price of these prescription drugs).

Trump even pushed back against the White House’s health care plan flop on extending the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits, saying that “somebody said that I want to extend them for two years. I don’t want to extend them for two years. I’d rather not extend them at all.”

Americans blame Trump and Republicans by a margin of 26 points for health care premium increases.

In response, DNC Communications Director Rosemary Boeglin released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s failed record on health care and lowering costs is so egregious that the only accomplishments he can claim under his term are thanks to President Biden. Meanwhile, with a month to go until 22 million Americans’ health care premiums skyrocket, Trump doubled down on his plan to end enhanced ACA tax credits and torpedoed any chance to save them. It’s a brutal split screen: While President Biden’s legacy continues to deliver for working families, Trump wants to raise your health care costs.”
