IN THE STATES: American Families Are Feeling the Harmful Impacts of Trump and Republicans’ “Big Ugly Bill”

It’s been one year since Donald Trump and Republicans sold out working families with their so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” — trading away lifesaving healthcare and food assistance to deliver the largest wealth transfer in history for their billionaire buddies.

While Trump and Republicans reward billionaires and big corporations with tax handouts, millions of American families are now far worse off than ever before. Over four million people have already lost their food assistance, in addition to the more than eight million Americans who have lost healthcare coverage, as hundreds of rural hospitals are also at risk of closure.

Trump’s unnecessary and unpopular war in Iran and his failing economy have left American families picking up the tab and facing an impossible choice: pay even more for healthcare or put food on the table.

Make no mistake: As Trump and Republicans continue to betray American families for the rich and powerful, Democrats are fighting hard to lower costs and make life better for working families.
