Donald Trump will do just about anything to line his own pockets and enrich his family and friends, from suspicious political pardons to shady business dealings. It’s no wonder a majority of Americans believe Trump and his family have inappropriately profited from crypto, and half of Republicans believe the president allows his business interests to influence his decisions. The Trump family’s net worth has nearly doubled since the 2024 election to a whopping $10 billion, and Trump himself raked in at least $2 billion since returning to the White House — more than any other year.
World Liberty Financial (WLF) is the Trump family’s cryptocurrency venture that launched during the 2024 campaign. Now, Trump is listed as WLF’s “Co-Founder Emeritus,” while his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. serve as “Co-Founders.”
Trump’s sons have used their close connection to the administration to further their business ventures while the administration has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into numerous companies linked to Trump’s children. Eric joined his father on an official state visit to Beijing while a company linked to Eric and the Trump family’s crypto business explored a deal with a Chinese firm that American lawmakers have warned poses a national security threat. Plus, at least four portfolio companies of Don Jr.’s fund 1789 Capital have won contracts amounting to more than $735 million from the Trump administration.
In response, DNC Spokesperson Jaelin O’Halloran released the following statement:
“Donald Trump is the most corrupt president in history — full stop. As he auctions off the White House to the highest bidder, the billions of dollars Trump and his family have made off of the presidency are just another slap in the face to everyday Americans who are having to stretch their wallets just to get by in his economy. From shady business dealings to foreign deals to corporate favors, it’s clear: Trump will always put his net worth ahead of the American people. Voters won’t forget who sold them out when they cast their ballots in November.”
