Honey Please: Kimberly Guilfoyle Resigns as Ambassador to Greece Amid Another Trump Administration Corruption Scandal

Kimberly Guilfoyle announced today she is resigning from her role as Ambassador to Greece after new reporting last week showed she engaged in “a quid pro quo” by begging a major Trump donor for $100,000 to pay her credit card bill ahead of her confirmation hearing. Guilfoyle attempted to hide the six-figure request by telling the donor, “It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express.”

Guilfoyle is the latest administration official to depart from the Trump administration amid historically low approval ratings for Trump and Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Kimberly Guilfoyle is just the latest in a long line of Trump administration officials who have had to resign in disgrace. Trump’s White House is ground zero for rampant corruption as he and his administration profit off of the presidency, handing out special favors to enrich themselves while everyday Americans struggle to make ends meet. Guilfoyle is only leaving because she was caught red-handed. Her departure won’t change the unfortunate reality for Trump and Republicans: the American people know this administration is corrupt and are going to hold them accountable this November.”
