In response to Teresa Benitez-Thompson’s election to the U.S. House of Representatives, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
“Congratulations to Teresa Benitez-Thompson, the Nevada Democratic Party, and all of the organizers across the district who worked to flip this seat from red to blue. As a community organizer, social worker, and former majority leader of the Nevada State Assembly, Teresa is a battle-tested public servant who has secured wins for Nevadans. In the House, she will be an effective leader for her constituents while fighting to lower costs, expand access to healthcare, support workers, protect public lands, make housing and childcare more affordable, and create good-paying jobs so that every Nevadan has a chance to succeed.”
