Over the Weekend, Trump Continues to Profit Off the Presidency at the Expense of Americans

Despite campaigning on ridding Washington D.C. of corruption, Donald Trump and his family continue to exploit their roles in the White House, making unprecedented personal financial gains off their positions.

The latest:

While in China, Jared Kushner’s sister highlighted her brother’s role in the Trump White House while pitching “golden visa” investments in a Kushner Companies real estate project in New Jersey.

The pitch sought foreign investors through the EB-5 visa program, which offered a path to citizenship in exchange for investments of at least $500,000 in development projects.

Donald Trump extended this very same visa program just one day before the pitch to investors in China.

Reminder: At least one Trump Tower was partially financed by wealthy Chinese investors through the EB-5 program.

Trump put his oceanfront French St. Martin mansion up for sale for $28 million.

Sale price suggested Trump sought a 40% profit on the compound he bought just four years ago.

Trump spent the weekend playing golf at his own country club in New Jersey.

Politico: “POTUS has now spent 14 straight weekends visiting his business properties.”

The American public deserves clear transparency about the business dealings of Trump, his family, and administration officials, but so far is getting nothing but lip service. Don’t take our word for it:

“Unfortunately Mr. Trump’s early performance — his unfulfilled promise to release his tax returns, for example, or his decision to keep the White House visitors logs a secret — suggests an administration determined to operate in the shadows. That’s no way to drain the swamp.” – The Washington Post
