DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement in response to this morning’s article in the Washington Post that the Republican health care repeal bill could raise premiums for 177 million Americans who receive insurance through their employers:

“The more we learn about the Republican health care repeal bill, the worse it gets. We now know that this bill won’t just raise premiums for older Americans, women, and people with pre-existing conditions. It could also drastically increase costs for the 177 million Americans who receive insurance through their employers.

“This bill isn’t just an affront to our values – it’s an all-out assault on American workers who fuel our nation’s prosperity. Democrats believe that health care is a right for all, not a privilege for a wealthy few. That’s why we will continue to organize and fight back to protect health care for all Americans and ensure that our economy benefits working families.”
