Tom Perez On Anthem Leaving Nevada’s Healthcare Exchange
August 7, 2017
Following reports that Anthem will be leaving Nevada’s Healthcare Exchange in 2018, DNC Chairman Tom Perez released the following statement:
“Once again Donald Trump’s efforts to sabotage the health insurance markets have left Nevada families with one less insurance provider for their care. The Trump administration continues to fail Americans across the country by not committing to paying cost-sharing reduction subsidies, which lowers the cost of copayments and deductibles. This recklessness, coupled with repeated efforts by Dean Heller and his Republican colleagues to repeal the Affordable Care Act, has contributed to a level of volatility that has driven providers like Anthem from the marketplace. Health care is not a game of Russian Roulette. It’s time for Trump and Republicans to stop gambling with the lives of millions of Americans. Democrats believe healthcare is a right for all, and that’s why we’re fighting every day to protect health care for families in Nevada and across the country.”
