DNC on Trump Not Protecting Coal Workers
February 8, 2018
In response to Trump nominating Marco Rajkovich to chair the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:
“Despite promising to fight for coal workers, Trump’s nominee for a key mine safety board literally made a career out of fighting against them – defending coal companies with repeated safety violations that put workers’ jobs, lives, and health at risk. It’s as absurd as it sounds. Trump has made it abundantly clear that he has no interest in protecting coal workers. While Trump continues to put corporations over people, Democrats will not stop fighting to protect workers and ensure everyone has an opportunity to succeed.”
