In response to the Trump administration restructuring the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:

“The Trump administration continues to prioritize Wall Street and big corporations over American consumers. By gutting the CFPB’s budget and enforcement authority, Trump and Mulvaney have abandoned the consumers they are supposed to protect, in favor of the special interests and bad actors they vowed to fight against. Trump’s not draining the swamp; he’s redeveloping it and branding it as his own.”
