After reports of an increase in Oregon’s opioid overdose deaths, DNC spokesperson Vedant Patel released the following statement:

“This failure to address the opioid crisis stems straight from the Trump administration and congressional Republicans like Rep. Greg Walden. Families in Oregon and across the country are waiting for leadership, and instead Republicans have repeatedly undermined the Affordable Care Act, causing premiums to skyrocket and making access to care harder for those battling opioid addiction. While this administration and Rep. Walden push drastic budget cuts and the repeal of the ACA, Democrats will continue to fight for Oregonians so that they have the resources they need to combat this crisis and access to quality treatment services.”
