DNC Chair Tom Perez issued the following statement after Democrat Helen Tai flipped Pennsylvania HD-178, marking the 41st legislative seat to flip from red to blue since Trump took office:

“Congratulations to state Representative-elect Helen Tai, Governor Wolf, Senator Casey, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, and all of the Democratic nominees from tonight’s primary races on a fantastic day for Pennsylvania Democrats. For the first time in years, Democrats have a candidate running in every single congressional district in the Keystone State. And thanks to the state’s new congressional map that put an end to years of extreme Republican gerrymandering, Democrats finally have a fair shot in this year’s midterm elections.

“There’s no question that the road to taking back Congress runs straight through Pennsylvania, and with the victories we’ve seen even in deep-red districts like PA-18 in March and HD-178 tonight, I know the wind is at our backs.
