DNC on Trump Admin Assault on Workers’ Rights

In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold employers' right to require arbitration to settle workplace disputes, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:

“The Trump administration continues to put business interests ahead of the rights of American workers. After President Obama fought on the side of American workers, Trump abruptly switched the administration’s position to allow employers to force workers to contract away their rights to collectively challenge workplace abuses, including sexual harassment and racial discrimination. This decision today is an assault on workers’ rights that will further empower and enrich special interests at Americans’ expense.

“While Trump has broken his promise to put American workers first, Democrats will continue to fight for American workers and hold Trump and Republicans accountable for their all out assault on workers’ rights.”
