DNC on Nevada Primary Results
June 13, 2018
DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after Nevada’s Democratic primary election:
“Nevada Democrats made their voices heard up and down the ballot tonight. Voters across the state are hungry for Democratic leadership, because they know Democrats like our Senate nominee Rep. Jacky Rosen and gubernatorial nominee Steve Sisolak will fight for them on the issues that keep them up at night – whether it’s finding a good-paying job; having access to quality, affordable health care; or getting an education that will open doors without the burden of massive debt.
“Democrats are united in defeating Dean Heller and Adam Laxalt, who have made it clear that they don’t have the backs of Nevada families. Look no further than Senator Heller’s voting record to see where his priorities lie – he bragged about helping write the Republican tax giveaway to corporations and the ultra-wealthy and broke his promises by supporting the reckless Republican plans to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Attorney General Laxalt is a bought-and-paid-for puppet for wealthy special-interest donors, having used the attorney general's office to do their bidding and push his extreme agenda.
“Nevada families deserve better, and I know that our stellar candidates are ready to win in November. They have the backs of Nevada families. And in the coming months, the Democratic National Committee will keep working with the Nevada Democratic Party to elect Democrats up and down the ticket.”
