In advance of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ speech to the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation in Los Angeles, DNC Spokesperson Vedant Patel released the following statement:

“The actions by this administration at the border have made it abundantly clear that the Trump-Sessions immigration agenda is an affront to our values as a nation. Children remain separated from their parents, and families seeking asylum in the United States could be held  indefinitely in a detention facility. Attorney General Sessions, President Trump, and congressional Republicans must fix this self-created crisis, as Trump’s recent executive order does nothing to reunite children with their parents and could still allow families to be torn apart. Families deserve to be treated with decency, not like bargaining chips, and Democrats will continue to fight to protect these basic human and civil rights.”
