DNC Southern Regional Press Secretary Enrique Gutierrez released the following statement following reports that Florida’s health insurers plan to raise premium rates by an average of 5 percent for ACA plans in 2019:

“Donald Trump and his Republican cronies like Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott are to blame for the insurance premium rate hikes for next year in the Sunshine State, and don’t just take our word for it – Florida insurers are blaming Republicans’ ACA sabotage efforts for the hikes. By playing partisan games with Floridians’ health care, Republicans are making it harder for working Florida families to access the quality health care they deserve. It’s time for Republicans to put an end to all their ACA sabotage and repeal efforts and join Democrats in working to make quality health care accessible to every Florida family.”
