BUILD BACK BETTER FRAMEWORK
President Biden promised to rebuild the backbone of the country — the middle class — so that this time everyone comes along. The Build Back Better framework will do just that.
This framework will put us on track to meet our country’s climate goals, create millions of good-paying jobs, enable more Americans to join and remain in the workforce, and grow our economy from the bottom up and the middle out.
AFFORDABLE CARE
This framework will save most American families more than half of their spending on child care, including two years of universal preschool for more than six million children. Middle-class families would pay no more than 7% of their income for affordable child care. And the framework will deliver affordable, high-quality home care for older Americans and people with disabilities, while supporting the workers who provide this care.
A MIDDLE-CLASS TAX CUT
We’ll bring down costs and rebuild the middle class. A historic tax cut for tens of millions of middle-class families, including giving more than 35 million families a major tax cut by extending the expanded Child Tax Credit and cutting taxes for 17 million low-wage workers by extending the expanded Earned Income Tax Credit.
AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
Health care will be more affordable for millions of Americans. The framework will reduce premiums for more than 9 million Americans and deliver health care coverage to up to 4 million uninsured people in states that have locked them out of Medicaid.
CLIMATE ACTION
Embarking on an unprecedented effort to combat climate change — creating hundreds of thousands of good-paying high-quality jobs. This framework will help us meet our goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions between 50 and 52 percent below 2005 levels by the year 2030.
