I Am Black History

The Democratic National Committee is celebrating local Black community leaders. During the month of February, which is nationally celebrated as Black History Month, we want to celebrate the work being done now. Traditionally, we take this time to remind folks of all the work that has been done by historical figures to advance society. While aspects of this celebration will be incorporated it is imperative that we “give flowers to the folks who can smell them.”

I am Black History will celebrate local and national leaders bridging gaps in their communities. This year, in the tradition of honoring our nation’s greatest civil servants, we will highlight local and national pillars that are working diligently to address issues in the areas of Mental Health and Youth.
