📉POLL: Americans Overwhelmingly Reject Trump and His Failing Economic Agenda

The American people have had enough of Donald Trump and his unaffordable, dangerous agenda. As inflation persists and Americans overwhelmingly expect Trump’s reckless agenda to raise prices even higher, it’s no surprise that Trump’s approval rating on the economy hit a “new low” this week, and a majority of Americans across the political spectrum say they are unsatisfied with the state of the country. 

Americans are widely rejecting Trump’s agenda — a majority agree that Trump is failing to get inflation under control and fear for their retirement savings, and a plurality of Americans believe that Trump has spent his presidency focusing on the wrong issues

Here’s a look at the latest Trump polling:

  • Trump’s approval rating remains underwater:
    • 57% of Americans are unsatisfied with how things are going in the country, including 67% of independents — and 20% of Republicans 
  • Trump’s approval rating on the economy also hit a “new low,” with a majority of Americans disapproving of Trump’s handling of the economy:
    • 59% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy 
    • Only 38% approve of Trump’s stewardship of the economy
    • 71% of Americans agree the economy is not improving under Trump, with 47% of Americans saying the economy is declining 
    • 70% feel anxious about having enough savings for retirement 
  • The American people agree that Trump is failing to get inflation under control and overwhelmingly fear his reckless national tax agenda will raise prices:
    • 58% disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation
    • Only 34% think Trump is doing a good job on the cost of living
    • 69% say Trump’s agenda will raise prices while 53% think he will harm the economy 
    • 76% say their incomes are not keeping up with inflation 
  • On key issues, Trump is out of touch with the American people and focusing on the wrong issues:
    • A plurality of Americans feel that Trump is focused on the wrong issues  
    • 65% of Americans disapprove of dismantling the Department of Education 
    • 56% disapprove of Trump’s devastating funding cuts, with 65% concerned Trump did not put enough thinking and planning into the cuts
