Trump’s budget slashes a whopping $930 billion from Medicaid
In response to a new analysis from the Congressional Budget Office which shows that the new Senate text of Trump’s budget bill makes even steeper cuts to Medicaid in history, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
“Donald Trump and Senate Republicans just told millions of Americans who rely on Medicaid that they don’t give a damn about them. The Trump tax scam makes the largest cut to Medicaid in history, leaving millions of kids, seniors, and working class families with nowhere to turn for basic health care. This is theft in broad daylight — pickpocketing working families to give billionaires a massive tax handout. Democrats will join with the millions of Americans abandoned by Donald Trump and congressional Republicans to hold them accountable in the midterms.”

“The report estimated that families with a modified adjusted gross income of less than $10,000 would lose over $2,700 (or nearly a 15% reduction in income). Families who make between $10,000 and $20,000 would lose over $800, or about 4.4% reduction in income, while families who make between $20,000 and $30,000 would lose $400, or about 1.5% reduction in income.
