🚨Trump Admin Forced to Back Down From Disastrous Project 2025 Agenda That Put Critical Programs at Risk for Millions
January 29, 2025
In response to Donald Trump and his Project 2025 loyalists being forced into reversing their move to freeze critical federal grants and loans, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:
“In his first weeks on the job, Donald Trump put critical programs for millions of Americans at risk, throwing seniors, homeless veterans, cancer patients, and hungry children all under the bus as part of his reckless and unpopular agenda – until Democrats and working families forced him to back down. Let’s be clear: This won’t be the last time Trump tries to rip away health care and skyrocket costs for the American people, and Democrats will be ready to stand up and fight back every time he tries to come after working families.”
NEW: After causing panic and chaos — and throwing millions of Americans under the bus — Trump’s White House OMB was forced to rescind their disastrous federal aid freeze order.
CNN: “The White House Office of Management and Budget has rescinded the federal aid freeze, according to a memo from a Trump administration official.”
Here’s a look at some of the programs Trump put at risk with his funding freeze (and still hasn’t actually answered for):
- Medicaid for 72 million Americans who rely on it for access to critical — and often lifesaving — health careÂ
- Meals on Wheels for seniors
- Housing for veterans on the streets out in the cold and without a roof over their heads
- Food stamps for 42 million familiesÂ
- School breakfast programs for millions of childrenÂ
- Clean water infrastructure across the country
- Cancer research to help save the lives of millions of Americans, including children with cancer
- Critical nutrition assistance for pregnant mothers and newborns
- Disaster relief for millions of Americans suffering from natural disasters, including those who lost their homes and livelihoods
- Head Start, which helps children access early education programs
- Financial aid for college students
- Funding for law enforcement and community safety
