24 Hours, Four Damning Admissions From Giuliani

Over the past 24 hours, we’ve seen Rudy Giuliani repeatedly admit one of the central elements of Trump’s abuse of power: that Trump forced Yovanovitch out to make way for his own corruption. Giuliani also confirmed that Trump knew about and supported his ongoing efforts to dig up dirt on Trump’s political opponent.

Rudy Giuliani admitted one of the central elements of Trump’s impeachment: that he “needed Yovanovitch out of the way” because “she was going to make the investigations difficult for everybody.”

New Yorker: “In a long conversation with me this past November, Giuliani largely confirmed Lutsenko’s account of their relationship. He, too, saw Yovanovitch as an obstacle, hindering his attempt to dig up dirt against his client’s rival in advance of the 2020 election. ‘I believed that I needed Yovanovitch out of the way,’ he said. ‘She was going to make the investigations difficult for everybody.’

Last night, on national television, Giuliani again admitted that he “forced her out.”

Giuliani: “I forced her out.”

Giuliani also admitted he briefed the president multiple times, which led to Trump’s pressure campaign and his eventual firing of Yovanovitch.

New York Times: “Rudolph W. Giuliani said on Monday that he provided President Trump with detailed information this year about how the United States ambassador to Ukraine was, in Mr. Giuliani’s view, impeding investigations that could benefit Mr. Trump, setting in motion the ambassador’s recall from her post.”

This morning, Giuliani made matters even worse for Trump by confirming that Trump has been “very supportive” of Giuliani’s ongoing efforts.

CNN: “Rudy Giuliani told CNN that President Donald Trump has been ‘very supportive’ of his continued efforts to dig up dirt on Democrats in Ukraine, including his most recent trip to the Eastern European country.”
