After Losing With The Voters And In The Courts, Trump Desperately Turns To Ranting On Facebook
December 3, 2020
Trump lost with the voters and he can’t win in the courts so yesterday he desperately turned to Facebook to attack our democracy and spread lies about the election as more and more Republicans reject his baseless claims.
Trump escalated his attacks on our democracy yesterday by distributing a 46-minute Facebook video rant to spread lies about the election.
Washington Post: “Escalating his attack on democracy from within the White House, President Trump on Wednesday distributed an astonishing 46-minute video rant filled with baseless allegations of voter fraud and outright falsehoods in which he declared the nation’s election system ‘under coordinated assault and siege’ and argued that it was ‘statistically impossible’ for him to have lost to President-elect Joe Biden.”
Giuliani continued to lie about the election in Michigan, which a Republican state representative called “unacceptable, shameful, and pathetic.”
Michigan Republican State Representative Aaron Miller: “I’m happy to thoughtfully listen to evidence and claims and that was what today was supposed to be about, but Mr. Giuliani’s final statement waded into the realm of insanity. He made wild and broad partisan insults for several minutes that had nothing to do with the election, and it was frankly unacceptable, shameful, and pathetic and distracts from any evidence that we might hear. I’m utterly embarrassed.”
Georgia’s Republican secretary of state confirmed again that Biden won Georgia and is our president-elect.
Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State: “It looks like Vice President Biden will be carrying Georgia, and he is our president-elect.”
Republican senators rejected Trump’s absurd effort to get Congress to step in and overturn the will of the voters.
Washington Post: “Key Republican senators sent a stark message Wednesday to supporters of President Trump who are counting on Congress to step in and reject President-elect Joe Biden’s victory: That isn’t going to happen.”
