Ahead of Pence’s Visit to Florida, DNC Unveils New Billboards Slamming the Trump Administration’s Failed COVID-19 Response

Today, the Democratic National Committee is unveiling new billboards in Orlando and the Villages ahead of Pence’s events in Florida this weekend, highlighting how Trump’s failed coronavirus response has hurt Floridians — leading to more than 15,000 Floridians’ deaths and millions of lost jobs in the state.

The billboards, located on US Highway 441 West near The Villages and at the intersection of Hiawassee Road and Colonial Drive in Orlando, will reach voters in the geographical area around Pence’s events starting on Saturday and run through the weekend.

“Voters across Orlando and in the Villages won’t be able to miss this message: Trump’s failed, incompetent coronavirus response has cost too many Floridians their lives and livelihoods,” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “When Pence comes to the state, he’ll be greeted by the consequences of the Trump administration’s record: spiking COVID-19 cases, workers who have lost their jobs and are worried about where their next paycheck will come from, and Floridians concerned Trump will rip away their health care coverage in the middle of a pandemic. And that record of failure is why so many Floridians of every political persuasion will be voting Trump out of office.”

Earlier today, the Florida Democratic Party hosted a virtual press conference with Former Senator Bill Nelson, State Senator Linda Stewart, Yolanda Russell, president of the Democratic Senior Caucus of Florida and Lorraine Tuliano, president of the Orlando Chapter of the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans, to discuss the Trump administration’s failed record with seniors, including his incompetent response to the coronavirus crisis and his broken promises on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other crucial issues facing seniors in Florida.
