Ahead of Trump Visit to Michigan, DNC Unveils New Billboard Slamming His Failed COVID-19 Response

Today, the Democratic National Committee is unveiling a new billboard in Oakland County ahead of Trump’s visit to Michigan this week highlighting how his failed coronavirus response has hurt Michiganders.

The billboard, located in Oakland County, will reach voters in the geographical area around Trump’s event starting this week. Across Michigan, coronavirus cases are spiking and the state reported 3,675 new cases on Wednesday.

“Voters across Oakland County won’t be able to miss this message: Trump was too incompetent and inneffective to respond to the coronavirus, and his failure has cost too many Michiganders their lives and livelihoods,” said DNC spokesperson Maddie McComb. “When Trump comes to Michigan, he’ll be greeted by the consequences of his record: spiking COVID-19 infection rates, workers who are struggling to find a good paying job, and Michiganders concerned he’ll rip away their health care coverage in the middle of a pandemic. The last thing Michigan needs is Trump coming to town to try and distract from his broken promises, and Michiganders will hold him accountable for his failures this November.”

Ahead of Trump’s visit, Michigan Democrats will host a virtual press conference with Congressman Andy Levin and Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes to discuss Trump’s attacks on health care and failure of leadership during the coronavirus pandemic.
