Anti-Choice Extremist Huckabee Sanders Avoids Republicans’ Extreme Anti-Abortion Record

After Republicans across the country were held accountable for their extreme anti-abortion positions, anti-choice extremist Sarah Huckabee Sanders conveniently passed over Republicans’ record including her support for one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country and opposition for any exceptions for rape or incest.

During her tenure as Trump’s press secretary and afterwards, Huckabee Sanders defended and supported his handpicked Supreme Court justices who later voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Huckabee Sanders: “We have a Supreme Court justice in Neil Gorsuch that I think is going to leave an incredible legacy and will be one of the defining moments of the president’s tenure.”

Huckabee Sanders: “Really proud of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. She will be confirmed and make an excellent Supreme Court justice. If you want more like her committed to protecting our God-given rights under the Constitution, don’t vote Democrat. Re-elect Trump-Pence and a GOP Senate.”

Now, as governor of Arkansas, Huckabee Sanders is opposed to including any exceptions for rape or incest in Arkansas’s extreme abortion ban.

Huckabee Sanders: “Look, I’m an unapologetic pro-life advocate and would push for anything that strengthens our ability to continue to have strong pro-life legislation here in the state of Arkansas… ”

THV11 Reporter: “And would you put in any sort of… exception for rape or incest or anything of that nature?”

Huckabee Sanders: “Like I said, I want to push for the strongest pro-life legislation that we can possibly have in our state…”

Reporter: “So probably not?”

Huckabee Sanders: “No, I would not advocate for those exceptions.”

Even though Arkansas already has one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country, Huckabee Sanders has pledged to go even further.

Axios: “The federal court’s decision triggers Act 180 of 2019, which bans abortion in all cases except to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency. There are no exceptions for rape or incest. Under the Arkansas law, doctors could be fined up to $100,000, face 10 years in prison or both.”
