As Pence Comes to West Mifflin, DNC launches Digital Ad Campaign Highlighting Trump COVID Failures

Ahead of Vice President Pence’s rally in West Mifflin today, the Democratic National Committee is launching Google display ads targeting the Pittsburgh DMA to remind Keystone Staters of Trump’s failed response to the coronavirus.

The DNC has launched Google display ads targeting 11 ZIP codes in and surrounding West Mifflin reminding voters that “This Administration Has Failed Us.” The ads direct to the DNC’s ad “Infecting Us,” which highlights how Trump is holding potential superspreader campaign rallies that threaten to worsen the spread of coronavirus in Pennsylvania instead of coming up with a plan to slow the spread of the virus and save lives.

“Despite what Trump said in last night’s debate, Pennsylvanians don’t want to learn to ‘live with’ a virus that’s killed over 220,000 of their fellow Americans and they don’t want a president who’s going to ‘terminate’ the Affordable Care Act and protections for preexisting conditions like asthma or diabetes,” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “No matter what Pence says during today’s rally, our ads will remind voters of the truth: This administration has failed us, and it’s time for Pennsylvania residents to go to IWillVote.com/PA and make a plan to vote so we can hold them accountable.”

Over 223,000 Americans have died due to complications from the coronavirus, including over 8,600 in Pennsylvania. The Keystone State is especially struggling in Trump’s COVID economy; Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is still 8.1%, above the national average and nearly three points higher than when Trump took office.
