As Pence Travels to Lakeland and Tallahassee, DNC launches Digital Ad Campaign Highlighting Trump COVID Failures

Florida just reported 5,557 new COVID-19 cases, most in over two months

Ahead of Vice President Pence’s rallies in Lakeland and Tallahassee today, the Democratic National Committee is launching Google display ads reaching Lakeland and Tallahassee area voters to remind them about Trump’s failed response to the coronavirus.

The display ads will reach voters in and surrounding Pence’s events in Lakeland and Tallahassee with the message that “This Administration Has Failed Us,” and will direct individuals to the DNC’s ad “Infecting Us,” which highlights how Trump is holding potential superspreader campaign rallies that threaten to worsen the spread of coronavirus in Florida instead of coming up with a plan to slow the spread of the virus and save lives.

“Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Florida, thousands of small businesses have permanently closed and more than 16,000 families in Florida have lost loved ones —  but all Trump has to say about this crisis is, ‘we’re learning to live with it,’” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “Pence can’t distract Floridians from the truth about Trump’s incompetent response to the pandemic: He’s failed us. That’s why voters in Florida are making their plan to vote using IWillVote.com and following through on it to make Trump a one-term president.”

Over 223,000 Americans have died due to complications from the coronavirus, including more than 16,000 in Florida. The state’s economy is also struggling under Trump: The unemployment rate is 7.6% and in September, there were 450,000 more unemployed Floridians compared to 2019.
