BACK ON TRACK: COVID Cases Down, Jobless Claims Down, Economy Up

Once again, weekly jobless claims hit a new pandemic-era low, and COVID cases have declined by double digits for five consecutive weeks. Our country is getting back on track thanks to President Biden and Democrats, and no thanks to a single Republican in Congress.

As businesses reopen and Americans feel more confident, more and more people are returning to work and weekly jobless claims hit yet another new pandemic-era low.

Bloomberg: “The decrease in claims underscores the labor market recovery is chugging along as remaining pandemic restrictions are eased. Hiring is expected to continue to pick up in the coming months as more Americans travel and socialize.”

CNBC: “The U.S. jobs market edged closer to its pre-pandemic self last week as initial jobless claims totaled just 406,000 for the week ended May 22, the Labor Department reported Thursday.”

With more than half of American adults fully vaccinated, COVID cases have declined by double digits for the fifth consecutive week.

Axios: “The pace of new coronavirus infections in the U.S. fell by nearly 20% over the past week — the fifth straight week of double-digit declines. The big picture: America’s vaccination drive is working, and as it continues to expand, the country can safely get back to many of its pre-pandemic routines.”
