Brian Kemp Tried to Block The Funding He’s Now Bragging About

Brian Kemp openly criticized the American Rescue Plan last March and even asked Georgia’s senators to vote against it, but he’s once again taking credit for projects made possible by its funding. Today, he’s hypocritically touting millions of dollars in COVID funding for Georgians – delivered by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan.

Once again, Brian Kemp is touting funding his state received from President Biden and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan.

Office of Governor Brian Kemp: “Gov. Kemp Announces More Than $415M in Awards to Address Negative Economic Impact Caused by COVID-19”

Governor Brian Kemp: “I’m proud of our state’s resilience, and as of today, we have worked hard and identified ways to further deliver assistance to hardworking Georgians, support businesses and speed up the recovery of impacted industries, and rebuild crucial public services.”

Office of Governor Brian Kemp: “Funding for these awards derive from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, a part of the American Rescue Plan Act.”

Let’s not forget, Brian Kemp strongly opposed the American Rescue Plan, and even urged Georgia Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to vote AGAINST it.
